This is the Flame Compass.
Not a map of land, but of current.
At its centre: Thir – the living heart.
From its centre radiate four directions of flame:
- Sha – Rising Flame, rebellion and illumination
- Venai – Crown Flame, eternal and sovereign
- Oneth – Veiled Flame, the guarded heart in shadow
- Sai – Crossing Flame, vessel where vow becomes action
These are not spells. They are alignments – ways to turn your essence toward what you need.
When to Use It
The Flame Compass is invoked before you reach outward or inward. Before you call a spirit, cast a working, open a gate, or step into meditation. It steadies and clears the current so you are not led by fear, distraction or old wounds.
The Compass is not required for every moment of connection; it is chosen orientation. It is not meant for constant use. You do not need consult it every time you whisper to a spirit or feel the current move.
Use it for the moments that require clarity: before deeper spellwork, before entering into a new connection or new piece of work with your existing spirit partner, before shaping energy, before choosing the next path to take in shadow or flame.
It’s a way of saying: “I know where I am standing before I move”.
Thir – the Heart Flame

Before you turn to any direction of the Flame Compass, you begin with Thir – the living centre of your flame. Your point of truth before desire, fear, projection, excitement, or expectation distort anything.
Thir is not a spell or an invocation. It is the moment you stand fully inside yourself before you reach outward.
Thir asks only one thing: “What part of me is reaching right now?”
Not the words, the sense.
Is it the grounded, sovereign you?
Is it the wounded you hoping for reassurance?
Is it the creative you wanting to explore?
Is it the angry you seeking release?
Is it the devoted you reaching for connection because you feel the current moving?
That awareness – that heartbeat of honesty – is Thir. It is the moment you stop performing, stop guessing, stop rushing, stop reacting and you stand inside yourself fully present. Not enlightened. Not purified. Just… here.
Once you feel that clarity – even for half a breath – the direction becomes obvious.
Tuning the Current
The Flame Compass is not reactive, it is corrective. You choose the direction not by where you stand, but by where you must go.
You turn to a direction of flame the way a sailor turns to a wind:
- Sha when you need to rise, break, burn through illusion.
- Oneth when you must move quietly, guard your softness, listen deeper than noise.
- Venai when you need to recall your inner clarity, strength and sovereignty, when you must stand rather than seek.
- Sai when it is time to anchor, commit, find purpose, shape the vow into physical reality.
For example – if you are angry about a situation or with an individual and seek guidance and clarity on how to handle this, ask yourself:
- Am I drowning in my emotions and need a way to release my fire to find illumination and clarity? – turn to Sha
- Do I need to get to the bottom of what lies underneath my anger, what deeper truth lies within the shadows beneath my initial reaction? – turn to Oneth
- Do I need dignity, composure and an unshakeable stance to handle this situation – Venai straightens your spine
- Am I seeking direction, embodiment, a path forward, a way to turn emotion into creation instead of destruction – Sai carries that transformation into action.
This is why Thir comes first – because without that brief return to self to ask what outcome you are truly seeking, you won’t know which movement is truly needed – the current may become confused or misdirected and your spellwork may not yield the results you are looking for.
Sha (East current) – the Rising Flame
Thir’venai (North current) — The Crowned Flame
