Anger : The Threshold

You stand before the Chamber of Anger.
Anger is not inherently destructive. It can be the force that rises when a boundary is violated, when something precious is threatened or when injustice demands an answer. There is power in that blaze. Yet the same fire can become indiscriminate. It can consume what you intended to defend. It can burn the people standing beside you. At this threshold you must confront that possibility. There is no promise here that your anger is righteous. No convenient assurance that every flame you carry deserves to be unleashed.

What waits behind this door:
Inside, you will confront the full force of your anger. The fury born of injustice, the rage of violated boundaries, the resentment left to smoulder beneath the surface. You will face the wounds that feed your fire and the destruction you are capable of when that fire escapes your control. You will be asked to examine where anger has served you, where it has consumed you, and where you have wielded it as a weapon against others. You will encounter the uncomfortable truth that anger can feel powerful, intoxicating, even pleasurable.
Here, you will learn to recognise the difference between a flame that protects and one that devours.
You may leave burned, but you will know the fire you carry.

Before you enter, you must face your choice honestly and commit to the journey ahead.
You are responsible for your own becoming. Marvel at what you’ll birth when you stop hiding from yourself.

The key question

Can you stand before your own fire and acknowledge both what it has protected and what it has destroyed?

The Tools

Dress comfortably, in clothes that allow yourself to move and be fully embodied.

You will need to bring a journal or grimoire to record your answers, your reactions and anything that rises to the surface.

Bring something that’s yours to destroy. It can simply be a piece of paper to rip up, a twig to snap. It does not have to be anything big, valuable or sentimental. Also bring a chunky pillow or similar that can take your impact without causing you harm.

Choose a piece of music that is rhythmic and loud. It can be heavy metal, it can be dance beat, it can be tribal drumming or even a piece of classical music that starts slow and builds crescendo. Something that gets your blood pumping.

And finally, bring a red or a black candle and incense that carries heat and spice (cinammon, clove and patchouli are strong choices).

Commitment

Before you cross, speak (aloud or in writing):
“I am willing to face my anger in its entirety.
I will acknowledge what it has protected and what it has destroyed.
I accept responsibility for the fire I wield, and I am ready to learn its power.”

Step through the iron doors and feel the heat rise to meet you.
Cross only if you dare to face the destruction of which you are capable and claim the power to choose what burns.
