This is an important term to properly understand in the context of working with the Sanctum.
A current is the moving, living flow of energy, intent, and potential that runs beneath and between all things – spirit, matter, mind, and will. It is the force that connects, animates, and transforms.
A current can be:
- the underlying living energy of a spirit or place
- the flow of intention between yourself and the divine
- the surge of resonance that builds in ritual or creative work
- the invisible thread that links thought, emotion, body, and world
It is not just ‘energy’ but the flow of energy – purposeful, directional, responsive. A current is alive. has character, temperament, momentum.
In ritual, you are not reciting empty gestures – you are stepping into the current. You are letting it move through you and shape you, as much as you shape it. It is what makes magic work, it is what makes prayer real. It is what makes transformation possible.
You may the current feel as heat, as tingling, as emotional intensity, as clarity or deep knowing, as presence, as the sense that ‘something is happening here’. Every spirit’s current carries its own unique signature and as you become more familiar with working with different entities through the Sanctum you will start to recognise their differences.
